After School Club

Baking is fun, especially when you’re a child. And, even more so when you bake with Lizzy.

Lizzy fell in love with baking as Covid 19 hit the uk and , from starting as a hobby she created a business! There’s many aspects to her business from wholesale to personal orders to events and teaching, Now she’s on a mission to inspire children by giving them the confidence, freedom, and skills to become brilliant bakers.

Her kitchen is an exciting place to be, where iaginations run free, given them the confidence to try new things and also learn the importance of food safety hygiene and allergy awareness, creating baking and taking home to share.

The Recipe

Ingredients

A maximum of 14 children aged five to eleven
90 minutes of baking and creating time

Easy to read, and to follow recipe
A selection of ingredients
Scales
A different bake each time
Cake box to take home your bake
A selection of arts and crafts

Method

Children wash their hands, put on aprons, and learn about hygiene, safety, and the day’s theme.
Lizzy demonstrates the recipe and shows the finished result.
Children take turns reading and following the recipe steps together.
While the bakes are in the oven, children clean up and do arts and crafts.
Once the bakes are cooled, children decorate them, clean up, and have a Q&A session.

Results

Children leave with their bakes and a recipe card to use at home.
They develop confidence, social, and language skills, learning to work individually, in pairs, and as a team.
Children gain a strong understanding of balanced nutrition, safe kitchen skills, and good hygiene.
They use creative ideas and themes for special occasions and themed days.
Children also learn valuable skills for both individual and group activities.
